When in danger, when in doubt…

…run in circles, scream and shout!

ThomasMomagitated

My oldest son and I appear to be mild-mannered people most of the time, but both of us are apt, when our equilibrium is disturbed, to get suddenly agitated; or – to borrow a colloquialism from my youth – to “spazz.”

Some of my spazz triggers are these: germs (“Gah!”), children in real or perceived danger (“Aaack!”), and messes (“Nooo!”)

Some of my son’s triggers are: toy/computer/equipment malfunction (“Oh nooo!”), our five-year-old messing with his things (“Aaagh!”), and our five-year-old messing with his brothers (“Sto-ooop!”)

Guess which family member tends to get a charge out of his mom and brother being upset? I’ll give you a hint. He turns six on his next birthday.

Even if one person gets a charge out of it, it’s not fun for everyone else, so this is something we’ll be working on this new year.
